Yoongi
‘We have to be careful. We cannot rush into this. Sergei might be a weasel *, but he is quite right. Rosa is smart and by now, I’m sure she would already know of what happened,’ Namjoon said.
‘Do you think Sergei would go against us and tell her?’ Jungkook asked and Namjoon shrugged.
‘She’s his client if she’s living in his mansion, but he doesn’t even have to tell her Jungkook,’ Namjoon said and I frowned in response.
‘He’s right. Having Cherry fight like that, exposed her. It was like putting a damned spotlight on her. She’s what everyone is talking about tonight. She’s the chatter of the underground – her and how did Bangtan secure a Scarlet,’ I said with a scoff.
‘As if she’s just some object that we just took and use as we please,’ Jimin said with distaste at the thought of it.
‘I know it’s not the case but you wouldn’t have been the first to attempt that,’ she said as everyone looked at her. ‘In the past it never happened, but ever since Domina Vindictae took over, there have been Scarlets who were purchased by mobs or mafia groups,’ she explained.
‘What? You can’t be serious!’ Myung exclaimed, eyes wide. Cherry sighed and nodded.
‘I am deadly serious. Look, you know how I got in. I was literally traded in for a favour. There have been groups who wanted their own personal assassin on the line, so they would purchase a Scarlet. They would practically own that Scarlet,’ she explained.
‘Damn. Talk about being *ed in the head,’ Jin said. Namjoon nodded as he tapped his fingers against the desk while he sipped on his glass of whiskey.
I heard Hoseok scoff as I turned slightly to look at him. He’s been awfully quiet tonight – keeping more to himself while looking *ed at the world.
‘So what are we going to do?’ Taehyung asks. ‘What I am seeing are two choice – go on offensive now, when she is still unprepared or gather allies,’ he said.
‘Cherry, you know her better than anyone else here. What do you think she might do?’ Namjoon asked.
‘It’s hard to say. She’s always been one of the most unpredictable Scarlets, but then again, it’s what we were trained to do. There are a lot of things she might do – go recruit others and ally herself with Exo. She might wait for us or she might bring the fight here,’ she explained.
Suddenly, we heard Namjoon’s phone beep loudly – the alarm ringing. He looked at it, his eyes going wide before he looked back at us.
‘I’m guessing it’s the latter and she’s not waiting. Someone just tripped the alarm wire,’ he said.
‘Damn it, is she really that much of a psycho?’ Hoseok grumbled as he took his gun out at the ready. He sounded *ed.
‘Everyone knows their position. Hoseok, go find high ground. You’re our main spotter. Yoongi, I need you running eyes for us. Jungkook, Taehyung, Jimin, I want you with Logan and Myung. Take her out using the tunnel. Jin, you go with them. Cherry, I need you with me. You might be the only one capable of taking Rosa down,’ he said.
‘Got it,’ everyone said as we all stood up, guns at the ready. I could hear the clicking and the movement but I could not help but watch Myung who looked at Namjoon worriedly. ‘Stay safe my love. The others will protect you and Logan. I swear to you on my life, nothing will happen to either of you,’ Namjoon said as he kissed her.
‘You come back to me, got it?’ she demanded. Namjoon smiled reassuringly and nodded.
‘I promise,’ he said, giving her another peck before he turned to the others who were assigned to her. ‘Keep them and yourself safe,’ he said, almost in a warning.
‘Don’t worry hyung. I won’t let anything happen to them. You’ve got my word,’ Taehyung said, determined. I knew he was not about to let anything happen to his brother, his sister-in-law and nephew.
‘We’ll go get Logan and meet you at the tunnel entrance,’ Jimin said as Taehyung nodded. Jimin and Jungkook took off running while Taehyung and Jin took Myung as they started to walk towards the entrance.
Hoseok also left to go to his own sniper spot while I turned to the other two. ‘Don’t do anything too crazy,’ I mumbled and they nodded.
‘We got this Yoongi,’ Namjoon said and Cherry nodded as she moved her shoulder, almost in a way to massage it.
‘Stay safe Yoongs,’ she said with a wink and I found myself nodding as well as I hurried towards my own room so that I can try to help guide them. I arrived there to find Huening-Kai waiting by the door.
‘Do you need me?’ he asked and I nodded. After all, Kai was someone I was training with surveillance and knowing the system.
‘Yes, come on. Where’s Yeonjun? He should be here?’ I asked as we entered the room.
‘I’m not sure Yoongi. Last I saw him, he was in the gym practicing with Noah. I nodded and just started working. At the tunnels, I saw Jungkook and Jimin bringing Logan as Jimin held him tightly while Taehyung led them out.
I let out a breath of relief, knowing they will be safe. I looked at the multiple screens and managed to locate Hoseok. He was well hidden and the only reason I found him was because I knew exactly where to look.
My eyes followed Namjoon and Cherry as they moved around quickly with men with them. Please be safe.
Namjoon
Gunshots could be heard and I knew that Rosa was close by. I could feel the tension in the air as Cherry drew out her sword. I took a brief second to look at her – her shoulder wound was covered with a bandage and her face was bruised, yet, she still looked determined than ever. There was a certain fire in her eyes.
‘Namjoon, Myung, Logan and the others have made it out safely,’ Yoongi said through the earpiece.
‘Oh thank goodness,’ I said. ‘Is anyone following them?’ I asked.
‘No, which is weird. It’s like they’re not being targeted,’ he explained. I heard Cherry sigh.
‘They’re not the target. I am,’ Cherry said as I saw her turn to look at me. ‘Namjoon, your family is safe. You should go to them and let me deal with this,’ she said but I quickly shook my head.
‘I’m not abandoning you Haneul,’ I said. I saw her eyes soften a bit when she heard her real name.
‘Namjoon, I don’t want you to get hurt because of me,’ she said but I shook my head.
‘The only reason Rosa is targeting you is because of Bangtan – because you refused to go with her and betray us so, no, I’m not leaving you and that’s final,’ I added as she simply nodded.
‘Namjoon, they’re coming. Get pre—’ Yoongi was saying but he suddenly got cut off.
‘Yoongi?’ I call out but there is only a crackle. They might have probably either jammed the communication or… no, I can’t think like that. I scold myself.
‘Yoongs?’ she called as well as she looked at me, her façade cracking as she showed worry.
Before we could do anything, the doors opened and Rosa walked in with three men. I recognized one of them – he was a member of the Scorpions, but I had no clue who the other two were.
‘Well, well, well, we meet again dearest Domina Umbra,’ Rosa said with a chuckle. Her voice dripped with acid, disgust and bitterness.
‘Can’t say I am pleased to see your face again. Last time we met, you left me to get tortured by Taeil,’ Cherry responded with the same level of disgust.
‘Well, I would say it was not personal but that would mean I’m lying,’ she said with a shrug. ‘How could you choose Bangtan over me? We were friends, family!’ Rosa yelled, starting to lose her composure.
‘The Scarlets, they’re an organization but Bangtan, Bangtan is a real family,’ Cherry responded.
‘If she is your family, why would you leave her to get tortured?’ I asked and she scoffed.
‘You have a way of winning people over Namjoon, I’ll give you that. You’re a manipulator – you’re using her to protect your family under the guise that you will offer her a home and protection, but really and truly, you wouldn’t care what would happen to her and if you were to see the real monster she is, you’d be the one to put a bullet in her head,’ Rosa snapped at me.
‘You do not know me Rosa! I would never do that to her. She’s family to me,’ I said as Cherry looked at me and offered me a small smile.
‘Family huh?’ she said as she scoffed. She took a step forward and Cherry instantly moved forward as well as she came in front of me, her protective nature taking control. ‘Ah so typical of you,’ Rosa said as she tutted.
Cherry looked at me and I could see a look of uncertainty on her face. Something was off… very off. Rosa started to laugh as she nodded towards her men. Two of them left and Rosa looked at Cherry.
‘What are you doing Rosa? What do you have planned in that crazy mind of yours?’ Cherry asked.
‘Crazy? You really have the nerve to call me crazy?’ Rosa asked, smiling as she continued to laugh and stare at her. ‘The only crazy one here is you. You betrayed the Scarlets so you won’t kill innocent people but then you go and join a mafia family. You refuse to come with me and rid yourself of the ones who hunt you? Yet, I’m the crazy one?’ she asked.
‘Rosa I’m not asking again. What do you have planned?’ Cherry asked through gritted teeth.
‘Did you really think you could keep your baby brother a secret?’ Rosa asked laughing. I gasped as I saw the colour drain from Cherry’s face.
The door opened as the other two came in dragging a semi-conscious Yeonjun. He was bleeding heavily from his side and he looked beat up.
‘YEONJUN!’ Cherry screamed as she was about to run at him but Rosa took out her sword and pointed it at her while one of the two pointed a gun to his head.
‘N—no—ona,’ Yeonjun stuttered as he looked at her with one of his swollen eyes. Cherry’s face hardened as she looked back at Rosa.
‘You should have not touched my brother Domina Rosa,’ Cherry said as she gripped the sword tighter.
‘You’ve grown weak. You’ve let yourself attach to people and that makes you weak and pathetic,’ Rosa said.
‘No, Cherry don’t listen to her,’ I said but Rosa chuckled.
‘Don’t worry little Umbra, I still have some honour left,’ Rosa said. ‘I have one final deal with you. My men leave and I let your precious brother and leader leave too. It will be just you and me, finishing this up,’ she said.
‘Cherry don’t. You know she’s lying,’ I quickly said but Cherry shook her.
‘You wanted Domina Umbra, well you have her,’ Cherry said, her voice suddenly cold. She turned to me and I gulped. ‘Namjoon, if you really care for me as you say you do, you take my brother out of here,’ she said, ‘please,’ she whispered. Her eyes were pleading and I felt my heart breaking.
‘She’s lying, you have to know that. She won’t fight you fairly,’ I said and she nodded.
‘I know that but I can’t… I won’t lose my brother,’ she said. ‘Please. You’d said you’d protect me but I need you to protect him,’ she said.
‘Fine. Make sure you come back to us, understood?’ I asked and she nodded.
‘Good! We seem to have a deal. Escort them out,’ Rosa said.
‘Hoseok, do you still have eyes on us?’ I whispered into my microphone as her three men came towards me.
‘Yes, I got it boss. One wrong move, and I’ll shoot their brains out,’ he replied. I nodded as I took Yeonjun who was shaking his head.
‘No…No… Nam—Namjoon please… please, they’ll kill her,’ he said as he stuttered and struggled to breathe.
‘She’ll be okay kid,’ I said as I turned to give one final look to her. She nodded at me and I began to help Yeonjun out.
